I think in Modern Times, the consequences tended to be the media pointing out any transgressions....

BUT... with this Administration, the media uses a 'soft balls and kid gloves' approach. This President gets a pass on everything.

Ask a resident from Rockaway, Queens how they are faring these days post Sandy. Bush got raked over the coals for Katrina. Not saying a President can stop natural disasters... I am just saying that one President got crucified for one and the other got crickets.

President Obama = The Commander in Finger Pointing

A good high school civics class might teach you a thing or two.

Republicans lie and say "global warming is not happening" (this lie is a favor for corporations like ExxonMobile)
Republicans lie and say "Social Security is about to run out of money." They say this lie to privatize SS and then the Wall Street CEO's can take $750 billion dollars in fees, and many other US CEO's can have a field day.
Republicans say 100's of lies like the ones above.
Do you even know what you are talking about?

#1 ExxonMobil, officially believes in "man-made climate change" and lobbied on behalf of Obama's proposed Cap and Trade. Why are you mentioning ExxonMobil incorrectly and misrepresenting their position? Because they are "a big scary and evil corporation" that quite possibly pays more taxes than any other on Earth?

You are just making up pure BS.

Carbon Fee From Obama Seen Viable With Backing From Exxon - Businessweek

Exxon is backing this in part, because they know that they can afford the carbon taxes and some of their competitors can't absorb the costs as easily. Yet, Exxon does believe in climate change officially and is supporting Cap and Trade.

#2 The Social Security Trustees themselves say that the trust fund for SS will run out by 2033 and at that point they will only be able to pay ~75% of the benefits and that number will dwindle as the ratio is projected to get worse in regards to contributors versus benefiters.

Exactly right. Cap and trade could be handled by the big guys like Exxon. It would bury the small ones . Exactly what obama wants bigger and bigger companies makes it easy when he nationalizes them for being evil

Why isn't there a consequence for these outrageous lies? If the President is never held accountable for blatantly lying to the American public just to sway voter confidence, then it's just going to keep happening! This is an outrage!

Oh, jeeeez.

For example, Bush lied to get us into Iraq.

Reagan lied about Iran contra.

Clinton lied about having sex with that woman.

HW Bush lied about no new taxes.

... see how that works?

This is true. They all lie. They are politicians. Politicians lie. Haven't you noticed before this?

Anyway, how much power does a President really have in a country that's run by special interest groups? Congress is paid off, everybody is paid off. Some democracy.

I noticed it about the time I started to walk. I can go further:

Kennedy lied about the Bay of Pigs.

Johnson lied about Cambodia.

Nixon lied about Watergate.
