Yea.

They're called "elections".

In other words, you get the government that you deserve.

We Tea Party Patriots primary out our bad seeds.

I guarantee that Lindsey Graham will be voted out in the next primary by a true conservative or a libertarian.

Yes, I think there should be term limits for all elected officials. Some like Kennedy and Thurman made a career of it. This should not be allowed.

I would be game for term limits, maybe 12 years in senate and 6 years in house and no more than 14 total years between the two. Though I'm not set for actually length, just throwing a suggestion out.

I mean term limits like a max of 14 or whatever years between the two.
Eliminate career politicians essentially.

I use to think this way, but our country and most others around the world prove that democracy doesn't work. People are stupid and lazy, and will blindly pull the lever for whoever is currently in office. Too many offices and districts are basically elected for life posts. The other down side is that the very chance of re-election puts most politicians in constant election mode. If politicians only got one term they would actually might actually do what is in the best interest of the nation instead of their re-election chances.

Yes.

Three terms for the house, and two for the senate. That's 26 years in the federal government, if you can max out the house, senate and presidency.

I don't remember which one it was, but some senator came out a few years ago and described a typical day at the office. It's fundraising, full time, with very little legislating interrupting it.

On principle, I disagree with term limits, but there has to be a compromise between principles and practicality. We don't need every lawmaker to be more preoccupied with collecting another $5k check than the with the welfare of his constituents.

25 year term limit on Supreme Court justices, no re-appointment allowed, with the longest serving justice automatically removed every three years.

I don't agree with this, the SC is supposed to be non political. Term limits for the SC only gives more power to the other two branches of government and frankly, the other two branches already have too much power, including the funding of the court system.
