The NAACP has fought to not have the Confederate Stars and Bars flown over government buildings and property. That's a bit different from ANYWHERE. You are free to fly that flag at your house without the NAACP bothering you. Now your neighbors may look at you funny, but rest assured that the mean ol' NAACP will leave you alone.

I was basing my statement based on what I think, "in general" means.

Apparently, you have different meaning. Which is OK.

I HAVE complained to both sides for using blanket statements. I just DON'T do it all the time.
And I don't often USE blanket statements, but sometimes it's easier than saying "in many cases, not all, but most of my experiences, etc." And hey, it seems generalizations are the only language some people here understand - so I am no longer worrying about that!

IMHO, I don't see the harm in it, just fly the stars and stripes above the Irish flag.
BINGO, that would be the polite thing to do!

AFAIK, there is nothing illegal about that... it's not even really illegal to desecrate an American flag, if I'm not mistaken. So yeah, I guess that would be "ok" legally speaking.

That is YOUR prerogative. Just don't expect to NOT be challenged when you do.

trust me, I have worry about the racist NAACP leaving me alone.

There are MANY cases where the National Association for the Advancement of Colored people have opposd the flag, period.
