Take it from me. Being gay is not a choice. So why do you post such things? What outcome. Are you looking for? Are you expecting gay people to die and be reborn differently? And speaking as a 35 year old gay guy who is considered to be hot by most with a swimmers body who has only been with one guy ever...why do you assume. Being gay means you are promiscuous?

Because statistically you are the exception not the rule.

Maybe because a whole population isn't defined by you and you are not defined by a whole population.

I know gay men who were once heterosexual. They told me outright that they made a choice to be involved in relationships with men, and no longer with women, after having had a couple of experiences with male partners.

The same goes for some females I know who were married to men, and after deciding to explore relationships with females, became lesbian, and gave up relationships with men.

So it's not that people are always "born that way." You may feel you have been, but I would bet 90 percent of gay people were not "born that way." There's no way to prove this either way, though.

best,
toodie

Because they have chosen to live their lives in small worlds where the status quo is considered a standard, as opposed to merely a measure of averageness... it's a shame, really, when we consider all of the achievements of the gay community, and all that you all still have to offer.

You should have quit with you first 5/6 sentences. This just makes you sound ridiculous...

How is he the exception? I cannot think of any gay man or lesbian that I know that made the choice to be gay. I also know of many straight men and women who are promiscuous.

The people you are talking about are called bi sexuals, they like both men and women and can make a choice. I have never been with a woman and do not and never have had the desire to, nor can I just switch and be straight, no more than you can switch and be gay and Like it.

I know you've posted about this a lot, but I think there's a difference between health statistics that are for bashing purposes, and those that are about trying to understand the situation. For example, I believe there are statistics showing that gay men are more likely to smoke cigarettes than the general population. Haters would say that this shows how terrible gay people are. Well-intentioned people would look for causes to why gay men are more likely to smoke, and try to find solutions that would make them and everybody healthier.

I still think you're dealing with a lot of internalized homophobia. I understand completely - it's tough, man.
