Seem like there is a coordinated effort to push non natural born citizens as eligible candidates for Article 2 Section 1 purposes to be president. The writers over at American thinker are getting hammered for their stupidity when stating this in the article:

"Consider this historical question: Could it have been the original intent of the Founders to disqualify themselves from serving as president? It was not until Martin Van Buren, eighth president, that we elected a man who had been born an American citizen."

One well informed commenter stated this in response:

"Pardon, you apparently didn't read Article II, Section 1, Paragraph 5 of the Constitution. They qualified themselves by saying, and I quote: "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution..."
That took care of those who were previously citizens of Great Britain, and of course their parents could not have been citizens of the United States either.
Clearly, they differentiated between being a citizen and a natural born citizen, as you would posit differently in your talk about Rubio, Jindal, and Haley being citizens, therefore eligible.
After further thought, I can't believe the two of you are that stupid not to have read the exception clause at some point, and understood what it meant.
They don't realize but the Fourteenth Amendment did not repeal the "natural born Citizen" clause of Article II:

Oh steve, how you continually distort reality. No one said that the 14th amendment repealed natural born citizenship. In fact it went to further define it.

It doesn’t matter what Mr. Ken Klukowski (or what you or I) think. What matters is the law enacted by Congress provides. Under the law, Barack Obama is a citizen of the United States; and as such, eligible to be President under the Constitution. NB: Prior to the enactment of § 1403(b) of title 8 of the United State Code in 1952, Senator John McCain would not have been deemed a "natural born citizen" eligible to be President. See Hollander v. McCain, 566 F.Supp.2d 63 (2008). However, as the court ruled in Hollander, the issue is not justiciable for lack of subject matter jurisdiction.

Once it hits this stage it becomes OCD or mono-mania.

A "leftist myth", eh? It's not according to the Supreme Court so someone in this thread is peddling a retarded myth but it is definitely the OP.
