Could you just imagine the tv shows if the Federal Government ran something similar to the BBC?

OK, then start a thread that defends this. Not one that tries to tromp on my right to decide what happens in my state and my municipality. So far your idea of 'less government' seems to mean that you, living in LA, want to tell me, living in TX, how I should live. Not cool.

I'd be a happy camper. YMMV, that's ok with me.

I don't care about PBS. I think it should be dissolved. Governments in general (federal, state, municipal) are way too powerful. I'm generally for less government on all levels.
And you just showed me that you dont even know what the hell you're talking about.

Where have I advocated government owning or producing tv shows?

And the only way to do that, and have it enforced, is through governmental means. Thats not less government at all..

Maybe Top Gear USA would be better! Although considering the US government it would probably cost 10x as much to produce and suck even worse.

Why and what is it someone's business if I so advocate? If my state, my municipality weighs in and agrees to do so, and I'm willing to pay the freight, what is your claim?
