And now two girls have been arrested for making threats against the rape victim. On social media, of course!

Quote:
The Attorney General’s office said a 16-year-old girl was charged with aggravated menacing for threatening the rape victim’s life on Twitter. Another girl, age 15, was charged with menacing for threatening harm on Facebook.

Have you ever met a teenage girl? This is pretty common.

Well it's good to see that it was a visiting judge that presided over the case. More than likely if he was a resident it would have been thrown out seeing as how the local prosecutor tried to get her to not press charges.

I don't understand the thinking of many of the people posting who seem to think that the girl was the "perpetrator" because she was drunk, using this as a reason to excuse these boys and pretty much making them the "victims".

What was her "crime"? She was drinking and was underage. Apparently ALL of those involved were drinking and were underage. How much each one consumed doesn't matter.

Now there is the possibility that she was drugged unknowingly. This happens to many women well above the legal age to drink (who are wiser and more cautious) and who are out for an evening and more than likely consumed alcohol, which in the majority ended up being raped by one or more men.

What kind of message do these people who blame the girl send to their own children?
To their daughters: don't drink when you go to parties because if something happens it will be your fault.
To their sons: if a girl gets drunk and you take advantage of her it's not your fault, just don't get caught. Learn from these boys.

I teach my kids to always be out with friends so something like this doesn't happen. Where were her friends? Why weren't they there to protect this girl? Why did she get so drunk she couldn't remember what happened? I'm not blaming her for what happened at all but one should not put themselves in that situation. I know liberals just want to go have fun do what they please and all is well but in the real world it isn't. There are a lot of F'd up people running around thanks to our new progressive f'd up society where everything goes. Hey the hollywood loons are honored for being in porn films and songs that glorify all this crap so it's the hip thing to do. Now everyone is shocked I tell you that it happens in the real world. This is the utopia you liberals wanted and are now shocked it has arrived.

They are products of a liberal society that has banished God.

When morality becomes relativistic, and you tell people that they are animals, don't be surprised with the negative results.

Oh rubbish.

I'm going to take a wild guess here and surmise that this being a smallish city in the Heartland, that the large majority of people there identify as Christian and that God is quite prevalent in most people's lives.

I would reckon that the large majority of people involved in this case go to church and would throw a big ole hissy fit should you accuse them of being liberal.

So don't pull that crap. And don't try and pretend this is some kind of modern phenomena. It isn't.

In response to your deleted post, Harrier:

51% voted for Romney
46% voted for Obama

Congressman: Bill Johnson - Republican

Regardless, I'm going to bet a million bucks that the Coaches, administration and most of the families involved identify as Christian.

So leave your "Godless" rhetoric out of it.

They are products of a HS football worshiping culture out of control.

The town is overwhelmingly Democratic - I only deleted that because we are discussing the city, not the county.

I'd say the town did worship at least something - football, by all accounts.
