Ohio State is the only one from a blue state, but they only played teams from blue states in the tournament up until the Final Four(Loyola of Maryland, Gonzaga of Washington, Cincinnati, and Syracuse) and they clearly deserved to be there.
They would have made my final four.
Kansas beat Kentucky in the final.
I probally would have predicted something similar.
Wait, are you saying that you picked Kansas to beat Kentucky last year, or are you saying Kansas actually did beat Kentucky last year? I'm a Kentucky Wildcat fan

Ah - thanks for the correction.
Kentucky beat Kansas in last year's final.
The Kentucky Wildcats conspicuous abscence from this years tournament may have caused a moment of temporary amnesia.
...why is this even in the Politics and Other Controversies section? Shouldn't this be in the sports section of this site?
The only thing political about this is the red state/blue state vitriol that was included for no reason whatsoever.
Actually - the political aspect is the only reason why I made the thread.
If I had placed it in the Sports forum - it would have been rejected.
Threads that have been started in P&OC have been moved to the Sports forum and those usually have been closed quickly because the Sports regulars aren't politically oriented.
I did link to this thread in the Basketball forum - so perhaps there will be some crossover draw.
CD should like that - advertising drives this forum - us members are only useful if we can make money for the owners.

No reason?
Read my first two posts in this thread.
I made my picks based entirely on political makeup in the teams home states - except when it was blue state vs. blue state or red vs. red, where I would pick the logical team that should win based on records, knowledge of performance, and intuition.
A notable exception is LIU-Brooklyn vs. JMU - where I noted that Brooklyn is more liberal than Virginia.
As I said, this has no place in this section of the site. Politics section is to discuss *gasp!* politics and other controversies whereas the sports section is to discuss *double gasp!* sports! This is a sports thread, so it belongs in the sports section of the site.
Are you really that blinded by ignorance that you can't even distinguish what goes where anymore?
Can't say I'm surprised, though this represents your mindset when it comes to this perfectly:
I explained to you why this belongs in this forum.
Are you that blinded to logic that you can't understand that this thread is only predicated on political considerations?

To the OP, EVERYTHING is blue v. red, democrat v. republican and liberal v. conservative. Thankfully, I'm none of the above, so I don't have to engage him.
