No, its an outright end run Roe v Wade. If more laws of these types of pass, then there is a higher chance that a coalition will bring the issue to the Supreme court to get them struck down.
That's what they want, for this to go to the Supreme Court. Roe V Wade was so broad sweeping chances are that any case that makes it there will limit it somewhat. That's why these states are passing these laws.
So if a state requires you to get a CCW, they have to pay for it?
Since no state does, please explain. There is no law that says I must get/buy/carry a gun, and If they tried to pass a law like that, I'll be one of the first ones to take the law to the State courts to get it struck down as being unconstitutional and a financial burden.
I didn't read all the replies but I will explain the reasoning. Look up Dr Kermit Gosnell. I am not here to argue that he is the face of abortion. The facts are that when something went wrong he had no where to address it and when the emergency personnel arrived they were not able to get their equipment in because the place was too small.
Is there perhaps a better answer in the middle? Perhaps so, but I would think that those who want abortion truly "safe, rare and legal" they would also want to make sure that they are being performed in the best environments for the women as possible.

And if they make it, the Supreme Court will continue to Uphold the case. Roe v Wade will never be overturned.
You know why it was broad sweeping enough to make sure women are protected? because of the type of things like Texas is doing. Limiting the rights of women over their reproductive health and placing undue burdens in order to get a perfectly legal procedure done, and making it cost prohibitive.

No state requires you to get an abortion either. Just like getting a gun, it's a personal choice.
so they shouldn't be forcing women to get an ultrasound prior to having a legal procedure done. Please show us where Texas will be funding all these unwanted procedures.

don't understand how carrying a gun is any way similar to having a medical procedure done.
What will happened (and what keeps happening) is that Roe V Wade keeps getting chipped away. Not overturned, but her scope is being limited.
Nothing is chipping away at Roe v Wade. What is happening is states passing laws to do an end run around it so they can make having an abortion difficult for women.
