Granny is granny to the younger one, not the 17 year old.
Granny said he was a victim because he didn't know the 17 year old and the 17 year old could have shot him as well.
Granny also said he was a witness not a suspect.
Granny did not mention anything about him skipping school that day.
The investigation into the shooting of a baby in Brunswick, Georgia -- a crime that's grabbed national headlines -- has taken yet another turn with the arrest of a local politician.
The arrest stemmed from a verbal exchange between Brunswick City Commissioner James Henry Brooks and the family of one of the teen suspects in the slaying during the suspects' first court appearance on Monday.
According to his attorney, Brooks told the family of De'Marquise Elkins, 17, that they didn't have to talk to police.
Brooks is a distant relative of the Elkins family, his wife, Alicia Brooks, told CNN. She did not know exactly how they are related.
The 59-year-old commissioner was charged with influencing a witness and obstructing law enforcement in an investigation, the Glynn County Sheriff's Office said. Brooks was arrested Thursday, posted $5,000 bond and left jail Friday afternoon.
The more I hear about this case and more I think about it the less sense it makes. Why rob a woman walking a baby? What money would she have? They shot her in the leg and she still said she had no money. Why kill the baby in a robbery? Was it really a robbery, or did they use the robbery as an excuse to carry out the doctrine of the new black panther party:

Al the scam artist Sharpton holds a march if someone does not smile at a black person, so when is he going to march for the white baby shot in the head by the hoodrat? My guess is its not important to him.
The problem is white people aren't gonna march for their victims of racism either. Whites need to start caring about their own people. I saw more whites screaming " zimmerman" than the amount of whites i see supporting all white victims of black racism put together.

If we did support white victims of race crimes, we'd risk being labeled as racist. The rules are different if you're white. For example we could not have white college fund. That would be racist but african american college fund is not. That's ok and not racist. We don't respond the same because we can't without being labeled as racist.

For the record, white have had their own special college funds for years. They're called "legacy recruits."
