Fox reigns supreme for the same reason McDonald's reigns supreme - give people something cheap and empty, but good-tasting (what they want to hear) and they'll buy it.
And that's why Fox is to news as McDonald's is to cuisine.
If you compare actual data, you would realize you should be criticizing MSNBC and praising Fox for allowing both sides to present their side.
Meaning that for both the 2008 and 2012 elections, MSNBC was way unbalanced and Fox was a lot more balanced than the anti-Fox News people will ever admit!
I like FoxNews. They seem so much more positive about the country and Americans in general. It is so depressing watching the old big 3 and CNN/MSNBC. Those Liberals are always hanging condoms on their ears and crying about racism.
They "reign supreme" because they are the only news outlet source for people of a certain mindset.
Whereas people of different or neutral mindsets have network news, and a half dozen other cable news competitors.
So technically, they beat everyone else in raw numbers of viewers, even though the majority of Americans do NOT get their news from cable news, but instead still get it from regular old network news.
NOBODY else is doing stories on obamacare, Benghazi, NSA, the IRS scandals. Yet, the Christie story has been the lead 24/7 with the msm.
Fox News is ALL OVER the Christie Bridge story.....and he's a republican!
They are also doing in depth journalism on the chemical spill in WV......which is a chemical used in the coal mining industry.
Had the spill been of some chemical used in making solar panels, the msm would not even give it a mention.
ALL other news channels are biased to the point of being laughingstocks.
Speaking of spills: The recent derailments of trains carrying crude oil (one being Warren Buffet's Burlington Northern Railway) are precisely the reason we need the XL Pipeline, so that oil can be transported safely. That is why a pipeline is preferred over rail. Obama has refused to approve the pipeline. Any bets on why?
Read the article.
"Railroads have been making fortunes carrying 75% of Bakken oil and charging $17 a barrel to move crude oil to Texas refineries, versus the estimated $10 a barrel to ship by the Keystone XL Pipeline. Most analysts were baffled in 2009 when Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway Corporation made its biggest ever acquisition of the Burlington Northern Railway (BNI). The railroad was making good profits carrying the majority of Bakken oil, but that business was expected to shrink by 2012 when the Keystone XL Pipeline was scheduled to come on line. But since the Buffet purchase, the volume of Bakken oil shipped by train has increased by 2,000%. BNI's profits have grown by 30% a year to a record $2.37 billion in 2013. Goldman Sachs recently estimated the continuing delays in building the XL pipeline could raise from 10 oil trains of up to 100 tankers that left the Bakken everyday in 2013 could vault to 15 a day in 2014."
That is not the reason...Fox caters to the ignorant masses in the US telling them what they want to hear, regardless if it is true or not.
The ignorant masses who support an incompetent president..
