Government is a ruler over you that dictates what you can and can't do. Business offers to serve you in exchange for money. Business has no power over you without the government.
I'm not saying to trust businesses. I'm saying that trusting either to care about you over themselves is naive, so why give anyone power to run your life?
Most intelligent people study history and some, still living, have witnessed the atrocities committed by "government." Tell me why someone should trust an entity that counts the Khmer Rouge and Nazism in its fold, over Walmart and Costco.
Governments are made of people. It's people that you have issue with.
