And start pointing our fingers at our fellow American citizens for the drug smuggling.....
Quote:
Mexico’s drug cartels depend on smugglers to move their illicit wares. But to listen to the U.S. Border Patrol, you’d get the impression that most of the smugglers are Mexicans. In fact, most are born-in-the-USA Americans, as the cartels prefer that their mules look like Walter White. And the Border Patrol knows it.
According to the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR), U.S. citizens comprise the overwhelming amount of drug-related arrests in recent years by the Border Patrol. They’re about 80 percent of the total, according to arrest data acquired by the group.
Drug laws are racists!!!! Somebody had to be the first.
Most of the drug laws in this nation's history had racist overtones. Opium was banned because of fear of the Chinese. Marijuana laws had roots in the fear and hatred many people had for Mexicans. Cocaine was made illegal because many people feared Blacks.

I know the origins of drug laws, they are not racist inherently, just how they were sold to the public.
Prohibition doesn't work. History has shown us that.
The sad thing is this. This drug war these days boils down to money. Alot of prisons are run by corporations, and those corporations make their money off of building, managing, and operating prisons on behalf of the government. There are people who want more people imprisoned because they make money off of it, and this is why some companies, like CCA, want drugs illegal. With more people in prison, they make more money.

But why else would lawmakers use race?
