I keep hearing from all the leftwing talking points regarding the national debt it's not a problem. Why isn't it a major financial problem facing the nation.

The left only opposes deficit spending when the other guy is doing it.

Currently, they doing the spending so it's okay. Even beneficial. lols.

Same goes for warfare. They only oppose war when someone else is running it. Look at their history. They are far more likely to go to war than Republicans.

What about the right? They're not exactly doing anything either.

We need to raise our revenues (which are a smaller % of GDP by far than they've been since we even came up with our system) as well as cut spending.

Fortunately we finally have a Prez in office again that has been reducing the growth of the annual deficits.

It is a medium-term problem that sequestration does nothing to help. We need short term stimulus and long term changes to Social Security and Medicare and we will be fine.

Question to the right : why was this issue not raised until the president was black?

Because they're the ones currently doing it, proposing a budget that over 10 years cuts only 1 year's worth of deficit spending. In 2009 you could go back to Bush's deficits, but it's 2013 now. That old excuse doesn't fly anymore. Not that it ever really did, since Democrat majorities approved the deficits then too.
