Sure for the most part they are except! How can they be sure. A felon with can go to a gun show and pay the $10.00 or so and be a member and no one knows what he actually does in his life,HAS DONE, OR WILL DO. Hell i originally joined at a gun show for $10.00 because i got a NRA hat with the deal.

We don't need new laws other than complete background checks or to ban rifles. We just need stricter enforcement od the laws and more responsible gun owners.

NRA Doesn't stand for NOT RESPONSIBLE for ANYTHING.You have a responsibility to keep your gun from being used improperly.

So you want to ban rifles even though they are used in less than 5% of murders? Great logic.

The vast majority of gun owners follow the law and are completely responsible. In fact, people with CCW are 5 times less likely to commit a crime than regular citizens.

If someone breaks into my house and steals my guns and uses them in a crime is it my fault?

A felon can join all the gun shows they want. Most felons are not permitted to own one. The ones on parole may not be allowed to touch one. Depending on the crimes, the parole may state they cant attend one, but after parole, they can attend.

Joining a gun show doesn't get you the guns.

A felon is allowed to join the NRA. Being a member of the NRA does not give you extra buying powers. NRA member or not, same laws apply to gun purchases.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot! I said NO to banning any rifles. Never said anything about concealed carry at all. Read my post and then get back with me.

Just because someone pays a fee to join the NRA does not assure anyone they are a law abiding gun owner(or that they even own a gun). How do they know the applicant isn't a felon with nefarious plans and wants the hat and a bumper sticker and then uses that to find friends in the gun world to find a chump to make a straw purchase for him.

I miss read.

As a gun owner who has bought and sold scores of guns, being an NRA member has never been a bench mark for anything other than political activism for gun rights. We are not some secret organization with a handshake to purchase guns illegally. You are really worried about nothing.

Lightbulb Nra 4 million law abiding gun owners

Better make that 3,999,999.

I let my membership lapse. But not due to any criminal activity, mind you. As a Vietnam era vet, Ted "Poopy" Nugent and I can't belong to the same club.

The NRA works for gun makers and sellers, their 1 or 2 million "members" are irrelevant to them other than to purchase their products.
