Things got pretty bad, very quickly with many innocent shoppers and tourists caught in the middle of a very chaotic situation.
Hundreds of teens littered Michigan Avenue and State Street near Chicago.
Things started to go bad around 6:00 p.m. Saturday, with teens purposely bumping into people, and causing fights among themselves.
Fifteen juveniles and two adults were arrested and charged with Reckless Conduct— a misdemeanor.
Community activist, Andrew Holmes witnessed some of the problems, while shopping with his family.
“You had a group of teens, close to maybe 500. They assaulted a Chicago police officer that was on a mounted on a horse and all of a sudden they assaulted a citizen walking the streets, just a normal citizen shopping and enjoying the weather,” said Holmes.
I would love to hear from the people who where in the area. I've heard that this was blown way out of pocket.100 to 150 was the count I've heard.
How many people where injured and got medical attention? How does the violence here differ from the bar fights on Rush street, Wrigleyville or Boystown.

While I deplore the actions of those teenagers, the sarcasm in the first post pretty much shows one thing: This was not brought up with the intentions of "telling the truth" or "being informative". This was brought up for only one reason: To vent anger at Black people. It was posted as a backhanded way of saying "Blacks are a problem population, so they deserve to be treated badly".
Why does the motive matter? This is why. If you mention something with the intent of doing harm to people, with the intent of pushing a vindictive agenda. You aren't going to foster any kind of change. You aren't going to bring forth any solutions. All you are going to do is alienate people, anger them, and some people are going to continue to get more defensive.
On the other hand, if your motive is for people to do better, and people can see this, then maybe more people will listen. You can tell a person's intentions by the way they say something. At least with Bill Cosby, we know the intention is for Black people to do better. I can tell he cares. You can tell in the way he addresses the issues.
Pretty unsettling, since that area is one of the safest in Chicago. I'm sure there will be an increased police presence in the area for a little while.

Regardles is disturbing in a city with a bad reputatio already for such violence. The context is more problems .
