The real problem isn't whether or not there will be white people or a white majority. It is how the changing demographics will affect the culture of America.

Moreover, more and more "white" folk are having "relations" with non-"white" folk...making little "mixed" folk.
Mixed is in the eye of the beholder. It's still convenient at times for people to label others as "black" or "white" etc. when pushing some sort of racial or political agenda.
Personally, I look forward to 100 years from now where mixed will be so insanely common that the whole concept of "race" has weakened (at least in the US).
I'm still waiting for an explanation on how whites will become a minority anytime in the near future.

It's pretty straightforward.
However, it depends what you define as "minority". Essentially, by 2050 or so everyone will be a "minority". There won't be some monolithic 70% white block like back in the day...there will be tons and tons of people with 1/4 this and 1/8 that. What's going to be really interesting is when 1/8 kids start qualifying for scholarships more often and people getting mad because of it.
I think the future of racial tension in the US is intra-minority, it's already prevalent.
