Yes we are now killing the ocean. When will this happen? 100 years out? 200 years out? And the only way to stop it is to level taxes on everything that moves to hand out to the rest of the world. The master plan. Your buddies dumping iron into the ocean and working on man made volcanoes and all that other nonsense are going to destroy the planet long before folks breathing does. Gimme a break.

Was there a legitimate point anywhere in that paragraph? Something about taxes, oceans, and breathing.

Has anyone else heard of Mr. 25's "master plan"? Sounds like one of those things right-wingers make up then pretend is real, like the homosexual agenda or the vast world conspiracy of climatologists. Sounds like the drivel spewed by the clown Glenn Beck, or the lies spread by right-wing propaganda merchants like the scum Limbaugh or the scum Hannity.

No. Just right-wing garbage. Nothing normal people need to take seriously.

FYI if you warm up canada enough the north atlantic conveyor would shut down and Ireland would freeze.

If you can't grasp this....did you know that when it gets hot in Chicagos interior it can actually cool off the areas closer to the lake?

You are looking really really ill-informed in this thread. If you were serious about the topic you would come better prepared.
One of the mini-ice ages was caused by this during the Medieval period. Iceland experienced extreme volcanic activity and there was a fast melt of fresh water. The jet stream consists of salt water. The deluge of fresh water deflected it far south, and the warming of the northern hemisphere was altered. Its part of the reason the plagues killed so many because it caused crops to fail and starvation set in.

Should this happen again the weather in the northern half of the globe would suddenly grow very very cold again. It would have a direct effect on the rest of the world as so much product is made in these areas. It would cause very cold temperatures in China and Europe too. And the grain bowl in the US would fail.

I wish people would look at the WHOLE picture and see we are screwing ourselves.

And its quite true that when deep cold comes to the area the warm air is deflected away. Maybe in other places this doesn't get mentioned, but where I live the weather guys always stress the way weather is guided by the movement of masses of cold or hot air, and storms happen when they meet.

If the north got colder, the equator would get warmer.

Mini ice age? We're talking about global warming here. So now global warming causes ice ages too? I guess they should have cut down on their co2 output back in the day since we are all paying for it now. lol

"Climate change is expanding Antarctica's sea ice, according to a scientific study in the journal Nature Geoscience.
The paradoxical phenomenon is thought to be caused by relatively cold plumes of fresh water derived from melting beneath the Antarctic ice shelves.
This melt water has a relatively low density, so it accumulates in the top layer of the ocean.
The cool surface waters then re-freeze more easily during Autumn and Winter."

Of course one disagrees and thinks the wind is the culprit causing all this ice. Giant fans could be the only thing to save us and counterbalance the wind to keep this ice from forming so they can continue to push their nonsense.

"Paul Holland of the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) stuck to his findings last year that a shift in winds linked to climate change was blowing ice away from the coast, allowing exposed water in some areas to freeze and make yet more ice."

BBC News - Melt may explain Antarctica's sea ice expansion

Amazing.

The "global warming" loons contend that global warming causes warming AND cooling, wet AND dry climates, more AND less ice!

Essentially, "global warming" can and does cause EVERYTHING from failure of states to redeem 5 cent deposits on cans, to the genre of bad comedy films perpetuated by Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller.

Have you had a chance to learn what ice density means yet?
