1. Obamacare cut medicare.
2. The sequester wasn't a cut, it was a reduction of increased spending. Instead of getting X% increase, they got X-Y% increase. Translation, instead of 10% more they only got 5% more, (Numbers are not real, just used to describe the reality of the sequestration cuts).
3. Medical facilities and doctor offices were going to start cutting medicare patients anyway, and start cutting insured patients, and ONLY take cash paying patients, and the patients can file their OWN papers with their insurance for reimbursement.

Quote:
But if Medicare patients can’t access vitally needed care because of $6 billion in total reduced Medicare payments, they’d better prepare for next year. That’s when Obamacare cuts an estimated $41 billion out of Medicare—in addition to the Medicare sequestration cuts of $9 billion that year.

The total effect of sequestration on Medicare benefit spending is $100 billion from 2013 to 2023. Those cuts pale in comparison to the $716 billion in Medicare payment reductions required by Obamacare over the same time period. Included in these cuts is a payment reduction of $156 billion for Medicare Advantage plans. That kind of a slice is a lot more than just a “tiny haircut.”

By 2020, Obamacare will reduce overall Medicare spending by more than $100 billion a year.

There are choices with medicare. You can use traditional medicare or join a provider. Ff you provider (i.e.) United Health Care does not contract with a private cancer clinic, that clinic is not on your plan...and just because you have medicare, does not mean the private clininc has to take you.

What's new about that?

Cancer clinics across the country have begun turning away thousands of Medicare patients, blaming the sequester budget cuts.
Oncologists say the reduced funding, which took effect for Medicare on April 1, makes it impossible to administer expensive chemotherapy drugs while staying afloat financially.

Cancer clinics are turning away thousands of Medicare patients. Blame the sequester.

Remember who isn't affected by the 'sequester' and is. Sad
Only the ignorant would think spending cuts would not have any effect. Ironically the very same people who have been calling for cuts the loudest are now the ones crying the loudest about their effect.

Default really

Private clinics are designed to make money before any cures are considered. Same for the drug companies. Both simply cost too much to be sustained.

Wonder what will be in Obama's proposed budget on Wed. The NY Times is reporting it will have proposed cuts to Medicare providers. Will we hear the same outrage on Obama's cuts that affect delivery of healthcare to the elderly?

Old people will continue getting the shaft by Obama.. Obama has to know the elderly can't make any interest today on their savings. That is stealing from them. The banks don't pay anything because of the housing crisis and all those toxic assets they have on their books and no money coming in from all those people who walked away from their homes and didn't pay their mortgage.

Now the cost of living has shot up, gas prices doubled, food prices going through the roof and still climbing. When the old people are on a fixed income there is no way to increase their money. Obama for two years gave no raise to the people on social security but he did give the raise to the welfare people.

Now Obama wants to decrease Social Security in his budget. Another blow to the elderly. Stealing money from medicare to put into Obamacare another blow as the illegals will love the new perks for free health care and draw many over here to have kids for benefits.

We have a president that is selling out Americans for a vote. Any old person who supports Obama is nuts.

Population control under the guise of necessary cuts.

Notice when it comes to "entitlement cuts" the only 2 programs ever mentioned is SS and medicare.

Young people today may not realize that how things are going today SS and medicare may be all that they have when they reach 65-67 yet today they are all for the cuts.

What new free healthcare is there for illegals? It's not Obamacare!

Just wait until Obamacare is implemented. Old people are too expensive to save. Give em pain pills and hope they die sooner rather than later will be the status quo. Will help social security too. This is the future your children get with this nonsense. Good work liberals.
