As there is nothing in the gospels about Jesus saying anything about gay or lesbian people or homosexuality, perhaps a more apt question is:

"Would Jesus have allowed hypocritical bigoted religious conservatives to follow him"?

Matthew 23

Seems the answer is ... Probably not.

Well, why isn't it a better place since he's supposedly omnipotent?

It's amazing that so many of you believe in this nonsense. SMH..

I know it very well, read it hundreds of times.. at the end. Jesus said ' Go and Sin NO more. Jesus didn't come to condemn. We sinners here were ALL in a condemned state. It is written.. Jesus came to seek and save all those that were condemned by their sin.. To accept Jesus and the Holy Spirit and walk after Jesus for the remission of sin is why Jesus died on the cross. Without the blood of Jesus and accepting him as our sacrifice for sin we are doomed to die in our sins.

Why did he feel the need to die to remove sin from the world? Why didn't he simply just remove sin right then? Or right now?

If one 'loves' hypocritical religious bigots, one will say to them "go and sin no more", however Jesus just called them a "Pit of vipers! Hypocrites! Blind guides!" etc

Matthew 23

Christians make Christianity look bad.

I absolutely refuse to be called a Christian even though I was raised in the church. The people of the church are the reason I left.
Every sect has their own interpretation of a text that has been translated, and edited numerous times. No two sects agree on everything, and if some christian does something that another doesn't like, then "they aren't a real christian"

I seriously believe that there are not many real christians. I haven't met any.

Ever hear of satan? Without the protection of God though the blood of Jesus satan has power over all that is without the Power of God in their lives. Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy God's creation.

God sent his Son Jesus for the power to defeat sin and it was done once for all people. The final sacrifice to defeat sin and all who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Common sense, if a way of living is not bringing about health and happiness and social stability then there is something amiss with that way of living. There are a lot of things we do that bring about misery. Straight people practice certain things that bring about misery. So do gay people. As far as Christians are concerned is it a sin and is it bad practice for a straight man to sodomize his wife? What's the difference?

No. Mary, the prostitute, followed Him, but only after she made the commitment to obey His command "sin no more".
