'Possibility' W.Va. sheriff targeted for crackdown: daughter - CNN.com

That didn't take long for the massive failure known as the war on drugs to start hitting home. America is no longer immune to the drug violence that is aiming at more high profile targets like law enforcement officers at the top of cracking down on drug dealers/suppliers.

Wonder how long it will take until we see the bodies piling up like they are in Mexico.

Why can't we just admit that the war on drugs is a massive, massive failure and stop wasting hundreds of billions of dollars trying to fight human nature, which is what is really at the core of the problem here. If you want to take out drug dealers, it is much, much easier to do it by taking away their money, rather than with tanks and machine guns. Just legalize and tax drugs already.

The Progressives learned nothing from prohibition.
They repeat the same thing over and over, expecting different results.

Sorry, but it ain't Progressives going on with the WoD. It's politicians. Most importantly, it's their constituents, mostly right-wing to center, that demand the WoD be waged. The same Americans that want to keep drugs illegal are also the same ones that want the drinking age to stay at 21

the war on drugs have just over populated the prisons, killed millions, and created wealth among the black market. people will always find a way to get what they want and it's kind of crazy that we are telling people what they can do with their bodies, yet the doctors are pushing drugs that are so-called legal but leave a person worse off than they were before taking their prescriptions. now most people are over dosing on medicine they've been prescribed.

The War on Drugs is very profitable the way it is.
Both the good guys and the bad guys are benefiting from it so it's not going to end anytime soon.

It's a virtual war that can go on for generations with the changing face of players.

Although I will say I preferred the Cocaine Cowboys of Columbia as they were not as gruesome and uneducated as these Mexican cartel guys are.

Yeah bodies were found in the Everglades but it was just among themselves that they targeted, very similar to the mafia.
These Mexican cartel guys just kill people to show they can kill people.

Prohibition: mobsters shooting it out in the middle of broad daylight with tommy guns over turf and markets.

today with alcohol legalized and taxed: no beer or liquor makers would ever dream of killing each other over a market share.

just legalize already.

At the very least legalize pot, this would free up an unbelievable amount of resources to go after harder substances.

Progressive is Social engineering. Look who brought you prohibition and making drugs and drug use illegal, taking that individual freedom away.
There is nothing Conservative about taking freedom, no matter how big or how small, it is still taken.
It is a Progressive ideal. It is social engineering and using social justice to make a profit.
