The wussification marches on..........a special committee had to be formed to study the issue to boot. I wonder what kind of loons were appointed to that committee.
"WINDHAM, N.H. (CBS) – Dodgeball has been bounced in Windham.
The classic gym class game has been a rite of passage for years, but dodgeball may have met its match in the form of the Windham School board, which at a recent meeting voted 4-1 to end dodgeball and other so-called “human target” activities, games with names like bombardment and slaughter.
“It’s almost turning into a nanny state,” said school board member Dennis Senibaldi, the one school board member who voted against the ban. “What happens when they replace that game with something different that another group doesn’t want to play, do we eliminate that group of games?”
One sane voice spoke out during the meeting. At least there is some semblance of hope with children like Linsey still around............
“I think they’re really fun because they’re just soft balls so it doesn’t hurt if it hits you,” said sixth-grade student Lindsey Stagg.
That is dumb. Kids play, let them. The worst things that could happen is a sting from the ball, or getting picked last for a team. Neither are life altering events.

I hope this doesn't mean the end of the greatest "human target" sport of them all; football, what with their blitzes, bombs, suicide squads, etc. Personally, I liked dodgeball. It was one of the few things I was half decent at in school (I was also a good burper). But kids have a way of taking control of things on their own. I had a lot of fun riding my bicycle no-handed, playing with matches, and blowing up stuff with firecrackers, all of which were activities that were frowned upon by the powers-that-be, even back in the day.
Football is dying. They are currently scaring parents away from allowing their children to play by using some guy who played for twenty five years of his life as an example of how evil it all his. Some 10yo running around falling over in pads aint gonna get brain damage. One percent of those ten year olds will play high school ball, one percent of them college and one percent of them will be the twenty five year club give or take. As if people didn't know that playing football could cause injury to begin with. So goes this insane country anymore. I guess kids will still be able to play madden.

The school system needs to get over this.
"the worst things that could happen is a sting from the ball' Not in this case. They are using NERF balls.
