If you think they are a threat....well just look at some our "allies" such as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, they've done more damage to American interests than little Cuba could ever dream of doing.
It's the old Cuban-American lobby that both parties are afraid of offending. However, as someone else mentioned, the Cuban voting block no longer exists. The I-4 corridor has a growing Puerto Rican and Central American population that identify as Democrat.Besides, surveys show that the majority of Miami Cubans are for or indifferent to lifting the embargo.

Until both parties understand this, there's no hope for ending it in the foreseeable future.

Republican lawmakers seek details on Beyonce, Jay Z Cuba trip | Reuters
Beyonce and Jay Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary this week in Havana, where big crowds greeted them as they strolled hand in hand through the Cuban capital.

They ate at some of the city's best restaurants, danced to Cuban music, walked through historic Old Havana and posed for pictures with admiring Cubans, who recognized them despite the past half-century of ideological conflict that separates the United States and Cuba.
..
In Washington this week, the State Department said it had no prior knowledge of the visit. A spokeswoman at the U.S. Interests Section in Havana said she did not know if the celebrity couple obtained a license for their trip. If they did not, they could be exposed to a fine.
Sad that these poor Cubans would admire them so much. They are living a life that Cubans can only dream of seeing in a magazine, it must have been the highlight of their lives to see these two in person. Only the very rich can be successful in Cuba, the vast majority lives in extreme poverty. Kind of reminds me of the poor welfare liberals here in the US who worship their Democrat idols....

Who the heck goes to Cuba for an anniversary, anyway?

Poverty in Mexico and Honduras is just as dire as poverty in Cuba. Post any example of Cuban poverty, and I will post the same from any other Latin American country. What you described isn't exclusive to Cuba. Latin American countries are divided by the very wealthy and extreme poor. There's very little in between.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) has authorized eight new airports across the country to offer flights to Cuba, following President Barack Obama's decision to ease travel restrictions to Cuba early this year.

In January 2011, the Obama administration vowed to loosen the travel restrictions on US citizens for traveling to Cuba allowing students and church groups to travel to the communist country, which has been under U.S. economic embargo for almost 48 years.

The new airports permitted to provide flights to Cuba include Tampa, Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, San Juan, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Atlanta.

Earlier, Miami, New York and Los Angeles were the only airports in United states that were allowed to host Cuba flights."

So the hundreds of thousands of Americans who visited Cuba last year through groups such as National Geographic did so illegally?
None of this means you're allowed to just go there as you please.

Probably going to see Castro's Cuba, because the other big socialist that left-wing celebrities love to hobnob with is Chavez, but sadly he's dead.

You mean the Mujaheddin? That's a whole nother kettle of fish, the Warlords that made up the Mujaheddin in general despise the Taliban. The Taliban as a movement didn't exist during the time of the Soviet Invasion, but came into being when the Mujaheddin fall apart and started a decade long civil war until Mullah Omar came into the picture and started kicking their ass eventually driving the what was left of the Muj to the North.

And we didn't really train the Muj, they were quite capable on their own on that front. We gave em some shiny toys that were used by the time the Taliban came into existence.

Well if you don't count the fact they knowingly harbored Bin Laden for over 5 years and throughout both the Afghanistan and Iraqi conflicts allowed free passage to Taliban fighteres who would flee into Pakistan to hide out until the heat died only to return and kill more of you.

Then there is the allowance of the Taliban to operate against those truck convoys ferrying supplies to you through Pakistan.

Aside from those and other things the Paki's are duplicitous over while taking billions in aid from you, I guess they haven't done much to hurt you eh?
