As of late, certain people have labeled liberals as lazy, anti-business, and ignorant. Yet, many liberals have claimed that conservatives are uneducated...

...I believe that education (something that takes work) fosters innovation, which brings economic prosperity to a nation. Innovation may be the one thing that will turn America into an economic powerhouse again, and in the modern era requires a skilled workforce.

Conservatives used to be big fans of education and voters, until those two things got together.

Good education allows thinking out of the box and liberal ways of improving and analysing concepts or themes that are to be studied.

But conservatives say that education is brainwashing to conformity.

That does not change my opinion. They say many things and I only gave my point of view. I can come up with many arguments for and against, but well, it wouldn't change their mind anyway. (The same as they wont change mine).

So it seems. An uneducated base is easier to rally together, they also don't engage in much critical thinking or fact checking. For many, its easier to regurgitate talking points. That makes a politician's job much easier.

An educated populace is scary for politicians.

Or they could be brainwashed through education, making them a very useful tool.

If so many of the voters are educated, then how do you explain the high number of people without jobs and on welfare?

By stating the fact that there are many liberal arts majors, which aren't known for developing the innovation that provides the jobs.

Democrats were willing to teach those down on their luck how to obtain welfare; something conservatives would rather not do.

Republican presidents run the country like a business, so it behooves them to have as few people on welfare as possible in order to give the illusion that the country is running more efficiently than it is. And the fact many may suffer as a result means very little to them.
