I do have one more map you might be interested in. The rate of welfare by state map. Guess which states have the higher welfare rates!

Balancing Jane: Red States, Welfare, and Poverty
To address my post you would need to compare the states with the highest taxes. I recently was made aware of the taxes homeowners in some of the Northern states pay and it is higher than what we paid for our entire house payment for the same valued home. We were in Vermont last September and the young man doing maintenance at the timeshare we visited had to pay three thousand dollars a year just for taxes. Some of the people who move to our state tell me their taxes in the Northeast were 17 thousand a year. I call that highway robbery.

Thanks for the map though. I find that interesting.

LOL Puerto Rico is a gun free zone... Most liberal democratic hell holes are loaded with high murder rates. I don't even believe the figure for Il.

NH is not a liberal state, other than the flatlanders who moved here from AWAY. They are city dwellers too and have just over run the state, driving up costs and of course taxes.

Never did get that idea. leave where you are to get away from what you don't like, but just bring it with you anyway. No one has ever accused the Democrats of being very smart.
Yesterday i found bear scat with some sort of red polyester cloth in it! (serious)

Maybe they record all of them.

So your theory is that those who pay more taxes, commit more murder?

I agree that "gun problems" are the cause for more murder. Thanks for the map.

As was pointed out, a red state isn't entirely made up of Republicans.

Why is there so much violent crime in Chicago?

Clearly, we can conclude that the states with higher murder rates are the very same states that have higher murder rates.

I cannot discuss something with someone who cannot comprehend what they read. You are purposely misunderstanding what I said.

So what states out perform here? The Red State of Utah. (Mormons) They have a good share of non whites and they have a low murder rate. Then you have the not so white, liberal states of Hawaii, Rhode Island, Minnesota all making the low murder rate top ten.

All 5, Red States on the most white top ten list, didn't make the top ten lowest murder rate list.

Just more evidence. Liberal states are less violent than Red States, accounting for race.
Utah:

White persons, percent, 2011 (a) 91.9%
Black persons, percent, 2011 (a) 1.3%
American Indian and Alaska Native persons, percent, 2011 (a) 1.5%
Asian persons, percent, 2011 (a) 2.2%
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander persons, percent, 2011 (a) 1.0%
Persons reporting two or more races, percent, 2011 2.2%
Persons of Hispanic or Latino Origin, percent, 2011 (b) 13.2%
White persons not Hispanic, percent, 2011 80.1%

Not exactly brimming with diversity.

Minnesota: (Link below)
White persons, percent, 2011 (a) 86.9%
Black persons, percent, 2011 (a) 5.4%
American Indian and Alaska Native persons, percent, 2011 (a) 1.3%
Asian persons, percent, 2011 (a) 4.2%
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander persons, percent, 2011 (a) 0.1%
Persons reporting two or more races, percent, 2011 2.2%
Persons of Hispanic or Latino Origin, percent, 2011 (b) 4.9%
White persons not Hispanic, percent, 2011 82.8%

Ditto

Rhode Island: Rhode Island QuickFacts from the US Census Bureau
White persons, percent, 2011 (a) 86.3%
Black persons, percent, 2011 (a) 7.2%
American Indian and Alaska Native persons, percent, 2011 (a) 0.9%
Asian persons, percent, 2011 (a) 3.1%
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander persons, percent, 2011 (a) 0.2%
Persons reporting two or more races, percent, 2011 2.4%
Persons of Hispanic or Latino Origin, percent, 2011 (b) 12.8%
White persons not Hispanic, percent, 2011 76.5%
Not so much non-white here, either, though more diverse than the other two.

Hawaii (same link as above)
White persons, percent, 2011 (a) 26.0%
Black persons, percent, 2011 (a) 2.0%
American Indian and Alaska Native persons, percent, 2011 (a) 0.4%
Asian persons, percent, 2011 (a) 38.5%
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander persons, percent, 2011 (a) 10.1%
Persons reporting two or more races, percent, 2011 22.9%
Persons of Hispanic or Latino Origin, percent, 2011 (b) 9.2%
White persons not Hispanic, percent, 2011 22.9%
Now here's some diversity!
