a far right conservative.

google the poll tax. It's the same as our property tax except Thatcher changed it to where it must be paid by each person in a household. So with a council house with four family members each of them had to pay the tax. And a millionaire living in a mansion paid the same tax as one working class person.

It was tested in Scotland first before being implemented in the rest of the UK. Hence why Scotland despises Thatcher.

She didn't even privatize health care in her own country. Maybe Satan kicked her out because she was going to make him pay the 62% UK income tax rate.

She was a bit of a Socialist.

O’Donnell: ‘Margaret Thatcher the socialist was forgotten long before she was gone’

Now here's a woman who had an opportunity to take the high road in life and really make a positive difference. She instead became ignorance personified, a proper-speaking female counterpart to that Conservative lark, Ronald Reagan. Privatization my arse...she was part of the problem. The only thing "iron" about her was the nimbleness of her mind.

May she rest in peace, the ending to a pathetic and wasted life as a Conservative.

Of course anyone who says this (below) in US, is labeled a communist / marxist by the far-right in US, so why won't they label her the same way? “The principle that adequate health care should be provided for all, regardless of ability to pay, must be the foundation of any arrangements for financing the Health Service.” - Margaret Thacher

To me she was just fine, not a conservative, not a marxist, but a middle of the road independent or moderate Dem (in US scale). She did things which are considered conservative, and she did things which are considered liberal. On social issues she was definetly liberal.

You tell me. Would a US conservative say this: “The principle that adequate health care should be provided for all, regardless of ability to pay, must be the foundation of any arrangements for financing the Health Service.”

No, they would not.

Look at the tax rates during her era? Very high.

The flip side of Universal Health Care is we can force anyone to work at starvation wages if we provide health insurance for their family. The important point is FORCE. If you are forced to work you are not an employee. You are a slave.

Look at South Africa today....failing economy....high poverty rates, etc.

Sometimes people don't know what's in their best interest.

I am happy that I came of age during the Thatcher/Reagan era.

I witnessed true leadership.

She will be missed by me.
