Here is some more about the US government and Agenda 21. Clinton started us toward sustainability and very recently through Executive Orders our present President has attempted to throw us to the UN's plans. Make sure you watch the video at this site in case you are liking Agenda 21 and the things it stands for such as smart growth. I signed the request to my Congress men to vote against all this crap. Will you?
The New American isn't a credible source....its a consprivacy mill...the whole Agenda 21 will go down in history next to HAARP and various other wacky weird linkages. Most of the things in Agenda 21 are gaining popularity all across the US as Generation Y Gains footing and leaves College....theres about 86 Million people in Generation Y....a decent percentage of the US. Were also entering politics in local and regional forms and gaining traction. So the Anti-Agenda 21ers are being met with laughs and opposition to there luny thoughts...

I know what Agenda 21 is , its not evil....whats wrong with being sustainable.....I wouldn't expect you to understand because you live in Missouri ....but here in NJ which is a dense state we are drawing up plans to cut sprawl and plan for the future....its the same in most of the Northeast. The thing with our plans are that there taken from Residents ideas and voted on....usually the Younger and Retired Residents pracipate and add there ideas into the Plan. The Plan is blank or basic before
Most Plans include the following...
Sidewalks along every Major Road
Bike Lanes along Major roads
Protected Pedestrian Crossings
Road Diets along wide streets
Streetscaping along Retail Streets or in the Downtown Area
Preserved Open space for Recreation , mostly Brownfields in NJ that have been cleaned up
Better Transit Access , NJ has plans to restored 800 Miles over the next 5 decades with 360 miles of that by 2020....
Now what sounds bad about that? No one gets there property taken away , most of the land in NJ that is being developed on is Brownfield and Abandoned....

Obviously you failed to watch the video I linked. Look at the larger picture. You can pick and choose that which you like but overall the catchword of "sustainability" is nothing more than the abolishment of private property rights.
Clue: Private property rights are central to individual liberty.

Few people respect this anymore, so it isn't a surprise some don't consider that bigger picture a danger.
Look around, left and right and you see all of them infringing on peoples property rights as well as individual liberty.
I just don't think anyone cares about this anymore and simply vote, encourage, and support whatever they think benefits them personally regardless of the infringements it may impose.
Continuous industrial, population, economic and urban growth? As if that will not run out of resources and room sooner rather than later. Some people are so enamored with their "right to be greedy short sighted developers making money at any cost to the rest of society" that they cannot tolerate the consideration of any alternate to their growth driven religion.
This generation just entering the workforce is living the results of forced growth and rampant speculation. They are not a foolish as their parents and do not trust the private sector to do more than continued exploitation and realize they can make a positive effect on their lives by entering and participating in government. These are the people that have had much of their opportunity stolen by the college loan boondoggle and are not pleased with the resultant economic discrimination.

Just so I understand, when residents get together to make informed decisions about their own communities that equals the "abolishment of private property rights."
