What makes you think it's not the other way around?

Are you so ignorant and naive to believe that it couldn't be the families using the president to push their agenda?

Or are you so used to pushing your agenda that you just can't help seeing both sides?

This is what I don't get--talking about something that really happened, and using it as an example, is now leveraging situations for advantage? If you don't base policy discussion in real life incidents, then why would you talk about policies at all? It's like some of you think talking about reality is some kind of slimy trick if the reality doesn't fit your world view.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't care what people's BELIEFS or IDEOLOGY are--I want to deal in facts and real events to hammer out common sense solutions.

"The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation."

Oh good lord--so by that logic then if we do anything in this country that benefits children or deals with public safety, we're one step away from Hitler.

I think you need to move to a country that has absolutely NO rules, like Somalia. I'm pretty sure they make a point not to pass laws that benefit children there, and I bet you'd LOVE it.

And by your same logic--how is passing laws to arm schools vs. dealing with background checks any different? We'd do both "for the children." You make zero sense.

Perhaps you've heard of the new gun laws that CT just passed. How is their agenda lacking at this point?

It makes perfect sense. Nothing they are doing will actually protect children. It is a ruse to get everyone to fallow along like sheep, not to question, just agree. So that anyone who disagrees can be labeled as someone who wants to see more children die. This song and dance has been going on for near 30 years, amazed how few actually realize it.

Where was Obama on gun control prior to this incident? We all know that he's staunchly anti-gun based on his past record in Illinois. Why didn't he take action at all during his entire first term? Why did he come out heavily on the issue after this incident?
