Actually the 2nd amendment is the only gun law we need. I can understand where you are coming from, living in SF to long all that liberalism rots the brain.

How do you know how long I've lived in SF?
And since you bring up the 2nd Amendment, where does it say that local law enforcement, or anyone else, has the right to tell citizens where they can't carry weapons?
Doesn't matter how long you have lived there,1 month is long enough for me. It doesn't say that so that would be illegal. It also doesn't say we can protect ourselves or our kids or property from idiots who want to come to a school with a rifle. Its just common sense I already told you this.

And gun-control proponents say that preventing schizophrenics and felons from owning deadly weaponry is also "common sense."

When common senses conflict, whose common sense wins out?

Why felons? What if the person didn't do it but was found guilty anyways? What if they took first offender act in their state and their record was cleared but the feds don't recognize first offenders act? what if it was a non violent act? You let the government take guns from "schizo's" they will abuse that power.

So do you think there is anyone at all who should be disqualified from owning a gun?

It is also already the law. Felons and those with existing mental problems are not allowed according to law to purchase a firearm in the US. The point is here, why write a law when the law already exists? Why not enforce the laws currently on the books before you begin writting new laws that won't be adequately enforced. Fact is, any new laws will not be enforced due to the lack of man power that would be required to enforce them.

Not off the top of my head no. Just because some one has a mental disease doesn't mean they are more inclined to go shoot up a school just like because old folks have slower reflexes doesn't mean we should ban them from driving cars because they MIGHT cause a wreck.
