From what I read, Tamerlan met with some extremists, and Russia might know about them. If those extremists have anything to do with even suggesting such attacks, they need to be identified.
OK - I see where you are coming from.
I agree that Russia may be able to help - but I most certainly don't think that they are involved.
Russia won't have any info - these guys moved here when they were young and became radicalized in Islamist extremism while here.
Tamerlan apparently spent time in Dagestan whree his ideology may have been increased.
These guys have little connection to Russia - though they may be sympathetic to the Muslim extremist Chechen cause.
Their home nation may be entirely irrelevant - what we do know is that at least one brother was trying to be a rather serious Muslim and during his exposure to extremism, may have influenced his younger brother.
These guys are in the minority.
Most Muslims don't act this way.
But those who do need to be identified and dealt with.
Russia might know because they keep intel on that region. They have had some run-ins with radical islamist in Chechnya. It is a complex and bitter history in that region that dates back to the 16th century. The region has somewhat stabilized recent. The history goes back even further, but I am not a history book, so...
I hope that you come to my defense the next time someone does that to me.

You know Harrier, whenever I see that, I report it. I think anyone who does that should get a big infraction. I reported the above. If I've ever seen one of your posts that someone has tampered with, it's been reported. You can also report it yourself.
