That's very true. He'd be traveling on whatever country he was a citizen ofs passport.

but to come back into the country his biometric greencard had to be presented. It does not make sense. I have seen it do it. They swipe it like a credit card.

Well then doesn't that make you feel safer ?

I fly to Florida and they match the info on my DL with my ticket.
This guy flies to a radical country and they don't catch a misspelling.

When the DMV screwed up my son's ID (misspelling) he had to rush a new one because he was flying the next week to a wedding and the airport said they couldn't guarantee he'd get through the gate.

This was early March.

Foreign radicals come and go and we're put under a microscope.

same with cruises. I have seen people not allowed to get into a cruise due to misspellings. Weird.

It's hit or miss.

My Husband got to the airport and forgot his picture ID. We thought we were screwed and they let him on the plane with no picture ID.

Good point, and I have zero idea how green cards work.

I would think that extra scrutiny would have been given if one is flying to a questionable country.
ID, passport, ticket. With the technology and what the government records (the FBI combed through his phone, text, emails) that they didn't record this info and see that the 3 items didn't match ?

Is foreign travel that lax over domestic ?

*reaches for tin foil hat

I call BS that there was a misspelling that lets the FBI off the hook.

It's my understanding that there's no law that says you HAVE to show ID. What I am told is that if you don't it could take a while to be allowed to pass on to the gate.
They sure make it sound like it's absolutely required but it's not.
