There are already over 20,000 gun laws in America. 20 THOUSAND! Do criminals follow those laws? One more law is going to make the difference? Really? How about we enforce and prosecute the laws already on the books, OK?

...and there have been no issues in those states that have lists, but this vote was not even about lists maintained by the feds, there was nothing in the legislation relative to maintaining records in fact there were large penalties preventing just that issue.

Uh, newsflash in most states you don't NEED a permit to buy a gun. This bill was about "loopholes" at gun shows and online, which DO NOT EXIST. Those "loopholes" are private face to face sales.

Imagine the following:

You go to a gun show and see someone walking around with a gun you like, you walk up to him and say "hey, I like that gun, are you interested in selling?" He says, "yeah, let's talk". That is a perfectly LEGAL face to face transaction between two private citizens. Are you saying that we should NOT be able to sell our own property without government approval? This is the so called gun show "loophole". Private face to face sell.

ALL, I repeat ALL ALL ALL ALL ALL ALL, sells from a federally licensed firearms dealer MUST MUST MUST MUST have a background check. That is the law!

The "loophole" is two people meeting at a gun show and agreeing to sale a piece of personal property. The fact that they are at a gun show is meaningless, they could be at their homes, in a parking lot, etc.

Yes current background checks do work, not perfectly but they do work that is why they should have been expanded.

If you love your country you should support the Constitution. You apparently use it to wipe your buttocks with.
