Well since the "will of the people" is the new benchmark for congress to consider when voting, 67% opposed Obamacare before it was passed and 75% oppose it now. A quick vote should rectify the problem.

And most Americans - well over 60% - oppose illegal immigration and any type of amnesty. I hope congress keeps that in mind.....

And....?

There was more on the table then just "expanded background checks".
If that were the ONLY item voted on then it just might have passed.
But that was pretty much the only item the press and the President kept talking about over and over
They were on the table under separate bills.

You mean the dems flipped the middle finger to the public when clearly 90% of the people wanted this to happen?

WOW, I though dems were for the people...

So everything in that video was untrue and a red herring?

Seems like you're favoring the intellectually lazy approach rather than looking at group dynamics.

People are smarter than you think. They have the ability to look at issues in an interconnected fashion, rather than the room temperature IQ folks who would look at them in isolation.

Sad, but probably true.

It's pretty shameful of you to make fun of somebody who was a victim of gun violence, but I guess that is the standard M.O. of a few "gun enthusiasts". I heard Rand Paul say that Obama trots out Newtown parents as "props", but the President makes a good point: why can't the Newtown parents (who are citizens), voluntary voice their opinion. Apparently, it is not okay for people who have been victims of gun violence to voice a pro-gun control opinion.

Talk about freedom being in danger...

I mentioned this before and I suppose I will again. It was voted down not for what was in it so much but for the fact that people do not trust the government when it comes to their constitutional rights.

What else was attached to the 'expanded background checks' proposal? Other issues were on separate proposals
