This can't be stated enough. What I don't understand is why the gun-grabber citizenry can't grasp this? Gun owners are their friends, not their enemies.
We live in an age of the internet and 24-hour cable news outlets.
Not only do people love to be told how to think, many of our brains are actually wired for it. 238 years from now... History lessons will be interesting.
And in 50 years, people like you will be remembered as apathetic and complacent sheep that blissfully ignored all the signs of a government organizing against the interests and livelihood of their own people.
You will be remembered as not only the idiots who voted them into office, but as accessories and enablers of our leadership to spend billions of tax-payer dollars to pass oppressive and unconstitutional laws which infringe upon our privacy and due process, billions of dollars to build and operate the worlds largest data centers, largely filed with illegally obtained information about you and your family, and an ever increasing amount of para-military domestic police, intelligence gathering agencies, and other intrusive agencies like the TSA to continue to treat the American people like we are criminals.
It is people like you who are so scared of these foreign terrorists, that you are coward enough to willfully allow our politicians to turn this nation into a police state.
238 years ago today, on April 19, 1775, the War for American Independence started when the British issued a gun ban, and then sent troops to confiscate privately-owned guns held by the Americans in the towns of Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts. The Americans lined up with their guns and refused to either lay down their arms or disperse.
Their captain told them, "Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon. But if they mean to have a war, let it begin here." (A marble monument with those words can be found on Lexington Green today.) The British tried to break them up, and the Shot Heard Round the World was fired.
With the way things have been going in this country recently, some folks have started referring to that as "The First War for American Independence".
----------------------------------------
Other April 19 events:
1764 - The English Parliament banned the American colonies from printing paper money.
1933 - U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued a proclamation that removed the U.S. from the gold standard.
1993 - The Branch-Davidian’s compound in Waco, TX, burned to the ground by Federal agents, who suspected that child abuse had been taking place inside. 86 people were killed, including 17 children.
1995 - The Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, OK, was blown up by American terrorists Tim McVeigh and Terry Nichols. Their excuse for murdering 168 people (including 19 children) was that they were upset over the Federal government's actions at Waco, TX in 1993, and other Federal killings.
haha, are you going to pick up a gun and fight in an imaginary war now? It appears you guys are lost in fantasyland.
Things certainly have changed in those 238 years. We don't need freedom of speech as we have evolved to where our government can think and do everything for us, so let's just remove that as a right. Freedom of Religion? Do away with it since more and more people don't need religion!! Freedom of the press? OUT!!! We have the government propaganda machine to tell us everything we need to know.
So yes things have changed but those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.
They're coming to take our guns, and our daughters...and, our clean shirts...yeah, that's it...clean shirts.
ok, you can all go to your bunkers now.
Best thing is to get down to your bunkers and cut off all communication with the world. Once it's all clear, we'll let them know it's safe to come out.
238 years ago today, the fantasy of every gun nut in this land was born: of someday standing shoulder-to-shoulder with like-minded political extremists in a shoot-out with the forces of law and order.
haha, are you going to pick up a gun and fight in an imaginary war now? It appears you guys are lost in fantasyland.
make no mistake here, traitors such as you will be the first to be removed from theatre...
