This is what you have in Texas...no zoning regulations, companies that can and do fly under the radar, avoiding and ignoring those pesky federal regulations.
But then you have a 'legislator' like Cruz (who wanted to deny Sandy storm survivors of any help and relief! who wanted to secede!) demanding every available federal dollar for emergency relief.
I have the feeling if Texas and any of it's sisteridiotstates ever DO secede, they'll become the biggest sponges of foreign aid the real US ever had.

Yet, TX has one of the lowest rates of workplace injury.

They obviously ain't ever worked in Texas. Of course, if their allegations are true and Texas still has a safer record than the national average (as statistics show) it would be a pretty strong argument for deregulation.
Why don't you quote the Fatal injury statisitcs? Workplace injuries in Texas are probably lower than the national average because the workers end up dead therefore falling into that statistical category instead.
You may be interested to know that the safety record of workers in Texas is actually higher than that of the US in general. The US rate is 3.5 accidents/illnesses/injuries per 100 workers. The Texas rate is 2.7 per 100 workers.
TEXAS HAS THE SECOND HIGHEST POPULATION IN THE FIFTY STATES. Not only that, our population has grown 25 percent in the past few years - necessitating a HUGE increase in construction jobs (NATIONWIDE construction jobs have the highest accident rate).
If you factor in the NUMBER of workers to the number of fatalities (aka "per capita") Texas comes out like this:
461 out of 26,059,203 people were killed in industrial accidents in 2010.
In Illinois, 206 out of 12,875,255 people were killed in industrial accidents in 2010 - about the same rate.
Per capita - Pennsylvania's workplace fatality rate is exactly the same as Texas.
Per capita - Tennessee's is much higher.
Idaho's is much higher.
Just to name a few of the states.
(I can't find a source that lists number of workers per state so I had to go with total population - not perfect but I'm trying to get the CONCEPT across to you.)
Also, since there is no law requiring workers compensation in Texas and many undocumented workers many injuries are probably not reported.
Thank god liberals support all the illegals! Nothing better than a steady stream of cheap labor to exploit and then dump when they get hurt.
Liberals: we support illegals because we care about people.
