Eh...death penalty, life without parole, what's the difference.
Nothing we can do to this man is going to bring any of the victims back. I think that is what all of us, regardless of political leanings would hope for most if it were possible. But it's not. So the best we can do now is celebrate their lives by reminding the world that they were here, they mattered and they were loved.
Put him on trial, and if he's guilty, sharpen a pork bone, jam it though his heart, and then feed him to the hogs.
We owe him zip. Knock him off so that normal humans can get back to normal life as quickly as possible. And if you can do it in a way that might help discourage his murderous terrorist friends from doing this again, so much the better.
[MOD CUT/off topic] The answer is human decency. People humor you because, although they are probably bored to tears, it's the decent thing to do. Some people still operate by it. I've seen people whose family have been taken from them by murderers who forgive the killers. That stands in contrast to the weaselly little vermin who use cases like this to puff out their chests and try to demonstrate just how tough they are by proposing various ways we might mutilate and kill for revenge.
My aversion to death penalty isn't about morality, it's about the fact that it cost tax payers more to execute a criminal than sentence him to life, and also, there are no retrials for someone who is dead. What if in 20 years it's discovered that this kid was forced to help carry out these acts under the threat of death? There have been many people executed who were later proven innocent. As much as I want this psycho to have his limbs blown off and die a painful death, I'd rather have him live than risk killing more innocent people.
[MOD CUT] Show me the numbers and your source.

Reason: profanity
I'm not a liberal, I'm a conservative. No, I don't want him to get the death penalty. I want him to get life without parole and I want him to spend the next 50-70 years locked up 23 hours a day starring at concrete walls wondering why he isn't frolicking with his 72 virgins yet.
There is a building mountain of literature that indicates that the death penalty is far more humane than serving life without parole in places like ADX Florence where that badest of the bad spend what can only be charitably referred to as life.
We have photographic evidence of him putting a bomb behind a child. Yeah, I'm OK with the death penalty for that. When the evidence is circumstantial, maybe we should hold back on death.
I'm fine with the death penalty in this case if he's found guilty... Right now though, it'll just be interesting to see if he survives or not or if he starts talking...
For killing an 8 year old... Death penalty.. after a few years in death row of course... Im all for him meeting Alaah. In good time.
