Ler's not forget their efforts, bravery and determination. During and after 9/11, firefighters could do no wrong and yet in recent years they have been demonized and marginalized for political reasons. Anyone that risks life and limb to protect citizens, deserves every dollar and benefit they get...and then some!
It only took the police departments of several towns, two bomb squads, a day-long "lockdown" of an entire metro area, and more hardware than you'll find in a third-world Army to catch one lousy teenaged murderer.
I'm sorry, but the terrorists won this one.
You have a warped sense of winning if you think the terrorists won this round in Boston.
It was a little embarrassing. What if there were 10 of these guys loose at once?
I thought so too. So many officers, bus loads of military and swat teams and couldn't find a 19 year old. Really was pathetic.. God help us if there was a nuclear weapon hidden and was going to go off in a few hours.. BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If this would have happened in the South, they would not have needed all these resources to track them down, they would not have made it off sidewalk from the marathon.
As a Yankee, I think you're being unfair. You guys are used to your homemade moonshine exploding and still being able to wrestle an armadillo at the same time. Of course you would have nabbed them.
Now put the remaining one on trial and, if he's found guilty, sharpen a pork bone and jam it through his heart. Then feed him to the hogs.
We owe him zip.
And hopefully some of his murderous terrorist soul brothers, here and abroad, will get the message. Anything that gets some of them to reconsider their career choices, is a job well done.

When did you start following the events of the past 4 days...an hour ago? Explain how they "would not have made it off the sidewalk" if the bomb went off when they were already far enough away from the location of the explosion at the time of the explosion?

Of course they won. Terrorism is to kill, maim, upset and create fear.. the town was in lock down mode with police power of every sort running around looking for one guy . Just one..

The now dead brother and the apprehended brother had more bombings planned. They did not expect to get caught, at least not this quickly. He was captured alive which will allow for interrogation that might stop other attacks. Jihadsits watching TV have now seen Bostonians applauding in the streets and not looking demoralized I guess some people cannot see past the nose on their face.

There would have been 100 times more fear and the fear would have been spread across the nation if they hadn't had all that man power looking for that one guy in a relatively small area of town. Not to mention all the marathoners running this summer will breath easier.
Law enforcement caught the bad guys without anyone else getting hurt. For that they should be commended.
However we're not going to magically forget about Ruby Ridge and Waco.
