We should send aid to the people in the town and then send the bill to the company, and if the company cannot pay for that bill, then all the CEOs and heads of the company should sit in prison for not paying their debts to the American people.
You'd think that it would be enough for Cruz that four VOLUNTEER firefighters gave their lives trying to extinguish a fire at a PRIVATE company that the government has sooo strangled with burdensome regulations that resulted in OSHA fining them during its LAST INSPECTION in 1985, a staggering $30 fine for hazardous storage of anhydrous ammonia.
Yes there are several rants hidden in between the lines but there is only such much bovine fecal matter that I care to address at this point.

What is OSHA's inspection cycle ?
Why aren't you upset that OSHA doesn't inspect more ?
Why aren't you upset that Federal regulators are dropping the ball ?
You know damn well these industries are regulated.
What we are seeing is what happens when the regulators are spread too thin.
Look around you if you don't believe me. Lax regulation enforcement/oversight in almost every industry in the US. There's not enough people and you end up with turning a blind eye and letting things go and not bothering to follow up.
We're too big to manage and perform the oversight and regulations that our laws call for.
And what's the solution in all cases ? Why call for more regulations.
Do I?
Your governor trumpets your state as the place to do business if one wants fewer regulations and less government oversight.
Reports show that Texas leads the nation in workplace injury.
Texas is also the first to rant about federal over-reach and burdensome federal regulations.
And yet they will allow companies to walk all over their citizens - steal their property, pollute their water and air - as long as they are willing to pay and donate to the next campaign.
Don't preach to me about the results of the policies that the majority of Texans keep voting for.
Lol, so you would have no problem from this day forward for a private business to receive federal money for fires, flood damage etc...
As far as I understand the disaster aid money is going to help the individual people/families of this disaster.
It's not to rebuild the plant if that's what you think.
If you have links showing that the disaster aid money is going to the fertilizer plant and not the people of the community please post it so we can all read about it.
Yet another prime example of right wing hypocrisy. First Perry and now Cruz.
The far right is always crying for "Cuts! cuts! cuts! cut everything!" Though when disaster strikes in their back yards, they are the first on their knees with their mouths open and hands reached out, begging for the president to bail them out.
What makes it even worse, is that Cruz was staunchly against the hurricane Sandy relief efforts, calling it "pork", now he is begging for the government to open the checkbook for him.

then that bill needs to be sent to the company that caused the disaster in the first place.
