Good point. In Iraq the Sunni lived side by side with the Shia in peace, until we showed up.

Of course. Their spiritual leader, Mohammed, slaughtered thousands. Now what kind of "man of peace' or "religious leader" kills?

Now they are starting up in Egypt.

"LUXOR, Egypt (AP) — A security official in Egypt says a mob of angry Islamists has burned shops owned by Coptic Christians near the ancient city of Luxor hours before a trial for a Coptic Christian accused of blasphemy.

The attack came hours before the start of a trial in Luxor for Kerolos Ghattas, a young Coptic Christian charged with contempt to Islam over a series of alleged Internet postings.

They are also about to execute a woman for converting to Christianity and already stoned her for having sex with her husband. Islam is a plague upon humanity.

Jesus Christ said to 'Love thy neighbor', apparently Mohammed's advice is to 'Kill thy neighbor'.

Here's some more Muslim 'love':

No, it is not inherent in their religion.

The Middle East is basically a heck hole ruled by tyrants where the common citizens are nothing but cattle. They are treated badly, intentionally misinformed, and used as disposable pawns by various people in power. It has nothing to with Islam and everything to do with what happens when crooked tyrants are allowed to remain in power for generations.

For a similar situation, look at Europe for centuries - heck, right up until WW1, arguably. It was the same nonsense, even though the technology was different. Kings and queens ruled the show, and the whole system was set up as a form of tyranny. The peasants had their world views carefully sculpted to make them into useful tools and unwitting pawns, and massive, bloody wars broke out between nations every decade or so. It was all technically Christians killing Christians, though they occasionally took breaks from that and went to the Middle East to kill "infidels" during the Crusades. It's all nonsense, but the tyrants of the time found excuses for it, as they always do, and in much the same way modern Middle Eastern tyrants find excuses for their wars.

Nothing really changes except the technology and the justification for violence. Islam is no more inherently violent than any other such religion - if you took the Old Testament laws literally and backed them up with force, the results would be no different than the worst Muslim extremists.

Yes, not exactly a "turn the other cheek" kind of guy.

When Muslims kill, they are just doing what was commanded of them by their religious leader.

A Muslim guy explained it to me -- he said that Muslims want peace, but peace can only be achieved when everyone is under Sharia law and follows the Koran, until then, people are divided, they believe differently and that leads to friction and war.

He said that Muslims would prefer we all just "see the light" and accept Islam and become good Muslims, and it's not their fault that we create problems by resisting.

This guy was living in the USA.

Huh...this sounds very familiar. I wonder why that is?

Oh, that's right. The Crusades definitely ring a bell. You can swap out any religion and place another one in and it'll sound exactly the same.

Interestingly enough the Crusades and the Spanish Inquistion were about freeing Spain of the Muslims. The Spanish Inquisition was very much a Muslim influence. It didn't last long as Spain began to free itself of Islam.

You learn sometimes you have to fight fire with fire -- the Muslims weren't about to leave Spain easily.

And he wasn't like Ghandi at all. Mohammed was a very violent killer -- and a pedophile whose favorite "wife" was a 6 year old girl. That kind of thing isn't in other religions.
