Is there a reason why the phrase "it's time" is always followed by total lunacy? It's like an early warning system. If you read "it's time", the lunatic fringe is just around the corner.

Seems like the right to bear arms just might out of touch with modern day USA.
thank you for exposing what the left really wants.

Exactly. The clowns won't be happy until you don't have any rights as an American.

When the 2nd Amendment was written it was assumed that everyone (white male everyone anyway) owned and where necessary carried a gun. That is why the 2nd references the Militia and not the individual, already assumed, right.

Don't be ridiculous! They don't want to take away all of peoples rights, they just want to pick and choose which ones they will allow them to have. They care about liberty, no really... they do! /sarc

The British may not be comming, but Barack Obama and his minions might be. We have in Barack Obama a man who would love to tear up the entire Constitution. He sees it as "a document of negative liberties," because it says what the governmnet "can't do to you," but not what the "government should do on your behalf." That is a scary thought, when you think that this man is sitting in the Oval Office!
I know excatly why the Founding father included the 2nd amendment option...I even understand your spin on thinking that the founding father were not expressly and exclusively speaking of the Tyrrany of English.

But here...Let me clue you in. IF and EVER the federal government [irrespective of whom the president is at the moment]...would confiscate weapons would mean that the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution was amended; therefore making confiscation[or whatever provision] lawful and consitutional.

That was an important point...did you get it? If the Constitution is amended[2nd amendment] what are you going to do? Are you going to follow the Constitution, or shread it up and throw it to the side for you guns?

Don't accuse others of doing what you yourself are willing to do.

Just like they could do the same with any protection as such. They could enslave the entire country, after all, if they can get the Constitution amended, its legal right? You being technically right or wrong on the point is not the issue. The point is that such changes defies the entire intent and purpose of the Constitution and if such were to ever happen, you can bet your bottom dollar it won't be him or others "shredding the Constitution", but rather the fact that the "Constitution is being shredded" with such changes. At that point, those desiring such will have to defend their new creation with the blood, sweat, and tears that so many have shed in protecting it originally. Somehow... I don't see the average Joe rushing off to give their life for a cause that is nothing more than busy body politics looking to instill fascist ideology into the people. In fact, I would wager that there will be a lot more willing to give their life in defense of such a violation.

I agree, if it aint broke, don't fix it, and if they try to "fix" the 2nd Amendment, they'll make things much worse and break everything.

They aren't trying to "fix it", they are trying to change the foundations of this country to fit with their utopian ideal. Can't have a singular utopian ideal with a society that was based on individual liberty.
