The anti-immigration class across Europe has found many new adherents as of late, especially in the most economically devastated countries, like Greece and Italy. But now these Europeans might themselves become the unwelcome migrants, at least in Switzerland.
So Lefties, still think we should be more like the Swiss? I think we should be doing this also, what about you?
I think any country is wise to only allow in the number of "legal" immigrants that they can accomodate in jobs and resources. To some though that is considered racist if we don't commit national suicide for as many foreigners that want to come here.
Being selectively anti-immigrant is what is keeping Germany, Norway, and Sweden strong. Ironic isn't it since neo-proggies constantly cherry pick these European countries as examples how great society is?

Racist!! Racist!!
For supposedly being the greatest nation on Earth, we sure are stupid when it comes to immigration.

b-b-b-b-b-b-b-ut we are the melting pot. We can just cherry pick social welfare program from homogenous areas of Europe and still maintain our "open border" policy. In no way are the two issues intertwined...nope.

Who said we should be like the swiss?

Shutting the door on EU migrants?
Well... yes, we should close off the door to EU migrants .... for now ... at least until the EU has some kind of bi-lateral immigration agreement with the U.S., where U.S. workers can easily move to the EU.*
However, we should certainly pursue a bi-lateral agreement with the EU for easy mutual immigration of skilled workers, yes.
* - let's use Mexico as another example. Mexico makes it very difficult for Americans to legally migrate and buy property in Mexico; thus, as far as I'm concerned, we need to close the borders with Mexico until they are willing to reciprocate with some kind of fair agreement.

The UK is the most strong nation in the Europe, yet it has a relatively friendly immigration system. Your theory has no credibility.
