I am amazed that anyone hirest them. They spend more time toking-up than actually doing anything.

I would never even consider hiring somebody addicted to tobacco (or alcohol, for that matter).
Alcoholics and people with AID's are covered by Americans with Disability Act, ADA. So I don't know why an addiction to smoking wouldn't be. They cannot be fired for their disability, and you cannot refuse to hire them.

It doesn't apply at my job but I know a few people who are ticked off that smokers get mini-breaks to go outside and smoke. Kind of a reward for smoking.

Yeah, they should be forced to smoke at their desks.

Why should smokers get time-outs?

Then figure out a way to control smoke.

The point is that people are told to wear fragrances at a minimum so as to not affect those who work with them. No one says anything to smokers other than "go do it outside then come in and get back to work" but the stench is still on them and it does affect people in the same ways that too much perfume does.

So you agree... Because when a tyrant smokes and brings with them the smell they are forcing people who work with them to deal with their odor. People like myself who have very sensitive reactions to smoke are affected not by choice but by force. So you're right we have to control these tyrants from forcing themselves onto other people.
