I would feel better if islam would denounce the violence called for in the koran. Instead, they pretend we don't know it's there. While Christians have done dome awful things, they have acted against the Christian faith while muslims act in accordance to theirs. THAT is what is scary. I now peace loving muslims but I wonder how quickly they could be turned using their own holy book to guide the way.
This is the same level of denial that allowed Hitler and the nazis to gain such momentum. Americans and Europeans said it was all exaggerated, that the German people would NEVER allow the nazis to act on their words.

*It is acceptable for muslim women to be gang raped in "honor" rapings for their brother's or father's crimes.

*Many muslim girls not allowed to go to school or learn to read--they don't want educated women.
*Many muslim women are not allowed out of their houses unless escorted by a male.

Try educating yourself by reading the writings and activism of Ayaan Hirsi Ali or Irshad Manji, both expatriate muslim women trying to reform the atrocities that muslim men and their religion do to muslim women. They are both constantly battling death threats from other muslims.

Oh. I thought we were talking about the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, not Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yeman and the like. Have you been to many Islamic countries or do you get your knowledge off the internet?? I don't have a "defense" to your limited knowledge. I've been to several Islamic countries, have you?
I'M very aware of women advocates who are bringing awareness to the world as to what is going on in CERTAIN ISLAMIC COUNTRIES, especially where it concerns FGM. What do you propose the US do about all the things that are wrong in certain Islamic countries? For that matter, what are you doing about it?
