It's just beginning. It's going to get worse. It will spread.
The problem with Spain's austerity is that the young people, the tax base, are just upping and leaving the country - and who in their right minds wouldn't? If they had simply moderated their approach and spent some money on taking care of essentials and had some kind of focused economic recovery plan that included employment first and balanced budgets second, they could have reassured workers that it's worth it to stay and stick it out. Now you have unemployment, you have people leaving the country, and worst of all...they're not even balancing the budget!!!
The implosion of Spain came under the socialists watch.
Spain was quite poor under fascist rule as well. In this case, I would look at the leaders of the nation. Sweden, with its socialist policies, has a unemployment rate around 8.8%, less than a third of the rate of Spain. Norway has an unemployment rate of 3.6 percent, and it is socialist as well.
I don't think this has much to do with socialism as it does with other things.
What proof is needed? Do you read the newspapers/watch the news? Been to the midwest lately?
The list of multi-nationals that have transferred factories, plants, staff, attorneys, whole divisions, or imported huge numbers of H1Bs, L1s, etc., primarily made up of chinese/indian programmers or attorneys is well known and does not need sourcing at this point.

Agreed-
All given to you through the gift of liberalism-
1. NAFTA
2. China most favored nation trade status
3. open door immigraion, driving down wages
4. too many "liberal arts" grad and not enough engineers and scientists
5. high corporate taxes
6. regulatory burdens via the EPA
7. Obamacare
8. Class action suits via the trial lawyers association
Liberalism is the fast track to third world status.

This is your side's problem. They simply REFUSE to acknowledge that their policies are a disaster only to continue them. Spain started going under as soon as they started to rely on Green Energy.
Scandinavia has very liberal social policies except immigration but their business policies are intensely capitalistic. The use their physical and human resources very wisely and the result is a very high standard of living. Much of the rest of outer Europe protects the income of the bankers before either the industrialists or the people. Without capital these economies are starved for investment and do not have jobs or welfare. That is what so called “austerity" means. The workers suffer because the money men cut their employers off.
