Man, remember when everyone freaked out when Sinead O'connor tore up a pic of the Pope?
I don't really find what she did offensive except she was half naked in public. That's just not really acceptable in our society and just kinda rude. People don't want their kids to see that. I mean, I wouldn't really care if my kid did because we don't freak out over nudity, but I feel people should respect that other parents would not be down with that. Even if you have an important political message to share. There are better ways to get your message across.
Has anyone else heard about the woman at CMU who walked in a parade dressed as the Pope? Im not sure if it is just a local Pittsburgh story. She was naked from the waist down and shaved her bush into the shape of a cross.
I am not a Catholic and I consider myself Liberal but this story really got on my nerves! She said it was a statement against the Pope and the child sex abuse scandal but I don't buy it. I think she is just some spoiled unstable girl that was looking for attention. And how pathetic do you have to be to walk in a parade naked just to get attention? She could have made her point by showing up fully dressed as the Pope and handing out condoms.
The university is contemplating disciplinary action at this point. I think she should be expelled. The parade was a school function. What she did was very disrespectful and I'm not talking about the pope but disrespectful to Catholics. It is wrong to mock anyone's religious beliefs no matter what they are or how much you don't believe in them. I would be just offenede if she was mocking Methodist, Budhist, Muslims, Jews etc. And what if it was a man that does that next time at CMU? I'm sure everyone would be outraged but he should have as much right to walk around with his monkey hanging out as her!

It's amazing how many people have absolutely no respect for themselves. Or are so pathetically desperate for attention that they feel the need to show their genitialia in public.
LOL! This thread got some really funny comments on it! But all joking aside the path this thread took proves my point. She just did it because she was desperate for attention! Have we had any posts about sexual abuse or corruption in the church so far? No but we have lots of posts from people wanting to see a pic of her snatch! I guarantee basically every conversation about this took the same path as we did!

Ok..ill be the first..uhh ..her nakedness did not remind me of the Pope nor did it put me in mind of corruption in the Catholic Church..it did make me want to be back in college though if that helps anything.
I just thought of a very good way for liberal women to express a protest against George W.
