The North American Union
What are your thoughts on the advantages and disadvantages of a NORTH AMERICAN UNION.
Yes its like the European Union but with North America. (USA, Canada, Mexico, etc.
My questions would be........
1. Would our economy be stronger?
2. Would our military be stronger?
3. Would our healthcare be better?
4. Would terrorism be less likely?
5. What city would be the capital?
6. What monetary unit would be used?

1. Would our economy be stronger?
In some ways yes and no.
2. Would our military be stronger?
I dont think it would matter.
3. Would our healthcare be better?
Maybe cheaper generic medications would be easier for seniors and
low income folks to get.
4. Would terrorism be less likely?
A NA union wouldnt make one bit of difference.
5. What city would be the capital?
Somewhere away from the traditional centers of economic and political power-and preferrably not in the US. Maybe Vancouver or Monterrey.
6. What monetary unit would be used?
Lets do like the chinese and manipulate our currency at will to suit our needs. Oh, and US Dollar all the way.

Our economy would be like it is now, Strong in some areas, weak in others.
Our military would be about the same.
Our healthcare might benefit, just depends on if Canada & Mexico could still provide cheap meds without alot of redtape.
Yeah terrorism would sadly be the same.
Capitol city should be in the geographical center.......NORTH DAKOTA
I like the idea jonjj has of AMERO for our monetary unit.

My questions would be........
1. Would our economy be stronger?
No, Mexico would drag the U.S. and Canadian economies down.
2. Would our military be stronger?
A little, just because we would have more stuff, but the U.S. would still be the biggest contributor.
3. Would our healthcare be better?
No, not better but cheaper maybe.
4. Would terrorism be less likely?
No, not unless major changes are made.
5. What city would be the capital?
Nuevo Laredo
6. What monetary unit would be used?[/quote]
The Amero, which would be worth about the same as a Peso.

lol....pretty much sums that up Lucidus.
The economy would tank for what was America. Mexico would be happy. Unlike Europe, there is a much larger economic gap between nations.
The military would stay the same, but I think you would have a scary mix of Americans and Mexicans. It don't see them fighting for any equal cause besides Xianity.
Health Care, I don't think it is too subject to any boundaries. There still won't be alot of good doctor in Mexico.
Terrorism would be the same. It isn't like Canada has a stellar CIA equivalent (do they?). We would be no harder to get into.
I think we would build a new capital city somewhere in Northern Nevada - Wetgringocanuck City. Or move it to New Orleans. That way the local and national politics would look the same, and the city could sink at the same time as its governemnt.
Oh, and the currency, the Pesdollooney. Valued somewhere between China and Weimar Germany.

This is only a union where it will make corporations stronger and the working poor, slave like. The rich will get more richer and the middle class will be history.

Unions always favor the least favorable.... I'm not about to push for legislation or deals that put my tax dollars at work in favouring another nation other than America... Period...we've got enough on our plate with trade deficits, and plunging dollar.. we don't need other's problems... the only thing this deal helps is the rich.. allows them to import raw materials from canada.. and export labor to mexico.. while average working americans get sold out.. and expected to buy the very products from the companies who sold them out....

Maybe the NAU can make stuff cheaply enough to sell it to China. Oh, China has protective tariffs to prevent that nonsense. Maybe we need a couple for ourselves. Let us start with contaminated toys and raw steel.
The North American Union is a system designed to use Canadian resources and Mexican labor to destroy the prosperity of the working class of the United States. A prosperous working (under) class is anathema to the one percent of the population people that own the place.
But why not? This kind of “FREE TRADE” is always a “GOOD THING” to the financiers. It is a fundamental part of their religion.
