Sadly, you're probably right. But I don't plan on voting status quo anyway.

Yes, we all learned a good lesson with all that was exposed.

The media Gate Keepers, decide elections. The propaganda and the blackballing was well documented.
Then the gate keepers pushed two Progressives on us, once again.

You know good well that the media gate keepers silenced Ron Paul and skewed polling results.

It is well-understood that the Democrats lost their Southern base in the mid-to-late-1960s by embracing civil rights, previously a Republican issue. Republicans responded with their southern strategy, gaining political support or winning elections in the Southern United States by appealing to racism against African Americans. That's the last time the political parties so radically changed their stances on major issues. At that time, though, it was a swap: Some people went from here to here, and a comparable group of people made the reverse journey. While it led to Republican control of the White House for twenty out of twenty-four years, the fact that the moves were balanced against each other resulted in no discernible impact on Congress: The Democrats continued to hold the House and Senate, as they had for more than a decade prior.

Would the change being suggested here work the same? I don't think so. The GOP becoming libertarian might gain some small interest from a very small handful of Democrats, but it would be a trivial amount. And where would the big government Republicans go? While I don't doubt the predictions, the most likely result would be the Republican Party exchanging members with Independents, this time, rather than with Democrats. The GOP would attract libertarian Independents, of course, but would lose a large contingent of reactionary, big government "conservatives", featuring the elderly concerned about Social Security and Medicare, corporate and political hacks concerned about subsidies for industry and military contracts, etc. The impact would be a stronger coalition (between Democrats and the new contingent of Independents, no longer constrained by fear of being labeled a RINO) on government spending, not a weaker one. I bet that that would tend to lead to Democrats holding the White House for twenty out of the next twenty-four.

That is because the Democrat and Republican parties have become Progressive and controlling.
You saw the start culling of the Progressive republicans in 2010. Heck we saw some culling of Progressive democrats too.

Now you have the Progressives in both parties, mad at people like Constitutional Ted, right after they used the media to marginalize Ron Paul, who was beating everyone, until the media blackballed him, because he wasn't progressive.

"The media gatekeepers" vote in GOP primaries?

Government has gone past writing laws and regulations to "serve" the people. Our federal government, and now some state and local governments, are about writing laws and regs for the purposes of controlling the people and forcing their will on us.

"Don't cry about it?" Dude, you have already bent over and grabbed both ankles, and you actually like it.

The more conservative the leader, the more prosperity is experienced. History has shown this over and over.

Do you think such vulgar nonsense actually does anything other than make your comments look puerile and disreputable? Did you seriously think posting such a thing (three and a half months late, by the way) would support your point of view?

Of course. The republican bloggers, RNC literature, RINO journalists and talking heads on TV, yes, all of those people and many more, in this day and age, are a part of "the media."
