A 4th grade science class at a private school in South Carolina teaches young earth theology that dinosaurs were killed in Noah's Flood and other obvisouly unscienctific "facts." Creationism Taught in SC School
The school is a private Christian academy so they are free to teach whatever they wish, but they are doing their students a huge educational disservice. What happens when one of these kids takes a standardized science test, or goes into a 101 science class in college?
Should there not be minimum standards for private and home schooling?
Unfortunately, private schools and parents are free to indoctrinate their children with their ignorant Stone Age superstitions.
Actually, kids who attend church sponsored schools or receive structured home schooling crush the public school kids in all subjects including science.
OR structured home schooling.
I never said our public education system is by any means quality, but at least theyre teaching facts.
Ive had college courses with biology majors who refuse to accept evolution, its an embarassment.
Why an embarassment?
I don't disbelieve in evolution, but let's face it most scientists look for proof. There is no proof of evolution, at least not to the extent of "man came from monkey" evolution. hundreds (of thousands, probably) of archeoligist digs go on every single year looking for the ever elusive "missing link" yet even though evolution would dictate that there were thousands of generations over the course of millions of years of transition between different animals into human form, they can't find one piece of evidence?
Again, I don't discredit the theory, but it's still a theory and to accept it is hardly an embarassment.

Gravity is a theory, too. So is the science responsible for making atomic weapons.
I think youre confusing the word hypothesis with theory.
To say theres no evidence for evolution is an embarassment.
