Maybe the activist is working on something new. Still don't understand why she was bumped up to the Most Wanted List.

Or maybe she's a scapegoat or an "image" they want to turn the public against.

I assume it was because Cuba was coming up for its periodic State Department review over whether or not it should be kept on the list of countries defined by the US as "state sponsors of terrorism." Obviously, that is a ludicrous designation, but this is the slender reed that the government managed to find.

Seriously, a little funny that this persons move to the FBI list is being bandied about as racism.

She's off the list for decades and decades....then they finally put her on the list having passed up the opportunity for a looooooooong time and suddenly it's racism. Bwah hah hah hah.....because NOW the FBI is racist all of the sudden when gosh golly they weren't racist back in the 1980's and 1990's etc. when they could have put her on the list but didn't?

This wasn't well thought out.

Just speculating but perhaps it's a gesture towards Cuba, hand her over and we can start some dialogue. I think it's safe to say that normalization of relations will not start if there is fugitives there.

.....a little swing-state payoff to the large number of Cuban-American voters.

If people care to remember, the Elian Gonzalez debacle cost Gore over 100,000 votes in the 2000 election, enough to have made a recount moot.
