what does that tell u? welfare queens are not fabricated they are alive and well here.
and yes i am an expert.
People who truly need it should be just as outraged at the people who are abusing it. Do people think this lady with 15 kids is right. She said someones got to be held accountable, someone's got to pay.

How about the people using welfare to buy booze and go to strip clubs. How do you justified this?

These are the ones that people have problems with. There are those who use their food stamps for junk food, just go to any Wal-Mart on Sat, the first part of the month.

Nita
Are you standing behind those people in Walmart when they use their food stamp card to confirm that they are indeed buying that junk food with food stamps? Food stamp funds are not dispersed on the first of the month, they are dispersed throughout the month, depending on the person's social security number.

The problem is that people who don't use the benefits are often neglecting their kids. Do you really think it was okay for my mom to make me eat unhealthy food in small quantifies for the first 10+ years of my life instead of getting food stamps? Or neglecting to take me to the doctor?

Even when I was young I knew I could not support a baby. I certainly would not want to bring a baby into poverty.
So my mother should have foreseen that my father was going to start beating her after I was born before she married him?

They are not brining it down. it's the liberal politicians who create a welfare mentality who are brining it down.

Someone said about a burger flipper doesnt deserve to be on the same wages as a CEO. That is true. But why should a hard working burger flipper be on a wage he has to supplement with food stamps and a CEO on 500 times more? Is he really worth THAT much more? Back in the 1960's it was 35 times more and the minimum wage was the equivalent of $11 an hour, and guess what, the economy was no worse than today. Walmart are using the welfare system to supplement a lot of their workers wages, while the family sits on a $100 billion plus fortune. Are they not as reprehensible as the lazy poor? Are their workers not morally better than they are, they are trying to work and pay their taxes and be responsible for themselves and their families. At the least, people should afford them some dignity, rather than vilify them for not going to college or being at the bottom of the pile.

I don't vilify them. Still,it is stupid and childish to think you can pay low skilled people well above the minimum wage, especially those that are not even adults.

There are lazy poor, yes. And there are lazy rich too, who just happen to have been born with a silver spoon in their mouths. There are corrupt people in every strata of society who will 'work' the system either through loopholes or illegally to benefit themselves. But I am sure that the bad decisions of the Governments and the incredible greed of some of the richest people in this world have exacted a far greater cost to Society than the working of the system by those who dont want to work.
If you are leeching the system,I do not care what your economic status is.

You obviously did not read my previous post did you? And as I said, your mother, she did the right thing to get the hell away from a monster. I despise abuse in any way shape or form. It has to be a nightmare to live under those conditions for the mother and the kids. A friend of mine despises his dad and to this day will not speak to him. He said all he did was cry and he felt so helpless when he was a kid because he could not stop his dad from beating up on his mom.

Oh here is my post.
I'm Really Tired of Anti-Welfare BS

And in the old days, they did not enforce child support. That is where the term dead beat dad comes from.

My parents immigrated to the USA with 2 children and 0 English. Without the assistance of welfare, they now own their own home in San Diego & children graduated/are in college

I'm not saying get rid of Welfare but there are very few excuses in the USA for staying on it for long periods of time. There should definitely be drug testing involved.

Welfare recipients and overpaid .GOV employees are the fleas and ticks...

The Ivy League Bankster Tribe and the corrupt politicos are the heart and intestinal worms...

The host animal is barely able to stand, stumbling day-to-day, and is exhibiting signs of dementia and psychosis...

Oh look. A lie. Something you just totally fabricated.

1) It wasn't food stamps that were being talked about.
2) It wasn't half of cards being used at casinos. It was half (a little more, actually) of casinos allowing cash withdrawals using EBT cards.

At making things up, apparently.

This is why we can't have a serious conversation about abuses of the system.

People lie about who is getting food stamps. They lie about what the money is being spent on. They lie about where the money is being spent.

If the welfare programs are as full of fraud as the Lifeline program then taxpayers have a right to be angry.
People scamming the system at those great numbers need to be dealt with and not let the government just rubber-stamp and turn a blind eye.

FYI..Lifeline got audited and 41% of subscribers were dropped because they did not qualify.
